Maestro Thielen has been associated with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra for more than 40 seasons, serving as concertmaster and associate conductor before becoming music director and conductor in 2000.

Nina Kim was born in Kamchatka, Russia, and started her professional education in violin performance at the age of six. While studying at the Yelizovo Music School in Russia under the tutelage of Marina Selezneva, she won multiple district and regional competitions and received the Gubernatorial Fund Scholarship.
