Nina Kim was born in Kamchatka, Russia, and started her professional education in violin performance at the age of six. While studying at the Yelizovo Music School in Russia under the tutelage of Marina Selezneva, she won multiple district and regional competitions and received the Gubernatorial Fund Scholarship.
She traveled throughout the far east as part of the Summer Art School for Talented Children, honing her violin skills with help of master classes with Alexey Koshvanets of the Moscow Conservatory. Nina graduated from Kamchatka Regional Music College (the studio of Tatiana Shishova), and went on to study at the studio of Associate Professor Tatiana Oborina at the Maimonides State Classical Academy.
She started her professional career as an artist of the Seasons Moscow Chamber Orchestra, performing on numerous stages both in Russia and Europe. She has also performed with the Kamchatka Chamber Orchestra as an artist, concertmaster, and a soloist.

In 2014 Nina moved to Florida for her master’s degree in Violin Performance and Chamber Music at the University of South Florida under the tutelage of Dr. Carolyn Stuart. Nina went on to obtain her doctorate at Florida Southern College and is now our concertmaster at the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra.
